Are all World War II Veterans Registered? With Memorial Day week-end fast approaching, plans are being finalized by The American Legion for the events to especially honor the World War II veterans. Two events are planned. The first is a prayer breakfast, on Saturday, May 29 at the Legion Home beginning at 8 a.m. The featured speaker will be Russell James III, President of Central Christian College. The prayer breakfast will pay tribute to the World War II generation and is open to all interested citizens. Everyone is invited to attend. On Monday, Memorial Day at the 11 a.m. ceremony, every World War II veteran in attendance will be individually recognized and presented a personally printed certificate of appreciation. This is a tribute long past due to honor these special veterans who did so much to preserve the freedom we enjoy today. For the past several weeks The American Legion has been trying to identify and print the certificates of every World War II veteran in the area. Many have called in and registered but perhaps some have not done so yet. If any World War II veteran has not yet registered to receive his/her certificate, please call 263-9536 and have your name placed on the list. Any veteran who calls in and is unable to attend the Memorial Day ceremony to receive their certificate in person will have his/her certificate delivered to their home during the following week. The Memorial
Day ceremony conducted yearly by the V.F.W. Post 2654 and American Legion Post
6 will hold this year's event indoors at The American Legion Post on Concannon
Street. All citizens are invited and encouraged to attend this special event. From:
