World War II vet donates medals and memoirs to museum

A 90-year-old World War II veteran is donating a piece of history.

Theresa Nichols was one of the first women to serve in the women's Army Auxiliary Corps.

On Monday, she donated her medals and memoirs to the U.S. Army Women's Museum in Fort Lee, Virginia.

Nichols worked on General Dwight Eisenhower's office staff at his North African headquarters in Algeria and typed secret field reports with the allies.

Nichols left the Army and moved to Durham with her husband to raise their two children.
