Rifle match at MSSEC A service rifle match will be conducted Sunday, April 25, at the Minnesota Shooting Sports Education Center (MSSEC) in Grand Rapids on its 50-yard range. The match is open to other high power shooters and is not restricted to just Itasca Gun Club membership. The first relay will commence the first stage starting at 9 a.m. The match will consist of 20 shots slow fire prone in 20 minutes. Time will be allowed for five sighting shots. The second state will be 10 shots rapid fire from standing to prone in 70 seconds. The third stage will be 10 shots rapid fire from standing to either sitting or kneeling in 60 seconds. The last event is 10 shots slow fire from the standing position in 10 minutes. Any NRA service rifle firing 30-caliber ammo or less will be acceptable. Itasca Gun Club will have M1 Garand rifles available for use at this match. Ammunition will be available for Itasca Gun Club members only. Other shooters will need to provide their own ammunition for other caliber service rifles. A fee to cover MSSEC range time expense will be charged.
