Nazism
by Ben Long.

The major concept of Nazism was that German was the master-race. The Germans idea was that they were the only pure representative of the Nordic "race," and were far superior to and destined to conquer and rule other people. One of the major programs of action of Nazism was primarily foreign affairs. They called for the end of the Treaty of Versailles. The Nazis wanted their German-speaking lands back that had been annexed to other countries after the war. The nazistic government desired this because then "the master race" would have "living space." Nazism also focused on abolishing Communism and labor unions would be controlled rigidly. Finally, persecution of the Jews was part of the Nazi program. Nazism also wanted to keep women in there own separate sphere as mothers, wives and removes them from the man's sphere which was jobs and politics. Many women believed that this was the right thing to do and supported this policy. Guida Diehl, leader of pro-Nazi women's organizations, agrees with this idea when she says that "He [Nazi men] wants to know again that German women and German fidelity go hand in hand, and that it is worthwhile to live and die for such German womanhood" (The German Woman and National Socialism, 247). Nazism was similar to the other totalitarian forms of government by wanting a controlling government, but they different with their idea that they were the "master race."
