I own a website, www.thetroubleshooters.com, which is dedicated to "Patton's Troubleshooters", the history of the 702nd Tank Battalion Red Devils and the 80th Infantry Division Blue Ridgers and other attached units. I have posted large sections of my book online for the public. I would like to link to your site, and naturally would appreciate a link from your site for anyone interested in the history of these units.

(Patton)...deserves a little less hero worship than he has gotten. He was a
successful general, perhaps, but he was also a racist of the rawest and
most vicious kind. His own writings show that he was convinced of the
superiority of Northwestern Europeans, except the Irish, and was convinced
of the inferiority of nonwhites. He also hated Jews and called Holocaust
survivors "subhumans". While such views were widespread in the officer
corps in the 1920's and '30's, Patton carried them to an extreme which
hindered his ability to effectively act in the occupation of Germany. He
was so far over the edge that I would say that he probably believed in
Nordic superiority more than most of Hitler's generals did. One good source
for the history of antiSemitism in the Army is a book called "The 'Jewish
Threat' ". It is quite a shocker. While he served his country bravely, we
should never forget that indirectly attitudes such as those held by Patton
and Lindbergh helped to prevent America from confronting Hitler or offering
timely assistance to those he would go on to murder.

Howdy!
I am not sure you are going to be able to help but I thought I would ask
anyway. There is a speech that Gen Patton gave and in it he said Give me an
army of West Point Graduates I'll win and battle but give me a handfull of
Texas Aggis and I'll will a war. Do you know what speech I am talking about
and where I can either get a copy of it or a video of it? I have seen the
video several times and I would like a copy.
Thanks and Gig 'Em,

I am writin a report about General S. Patton and i had some questions:

What battle were he in?
How old they were when they got in the military?
When they got out?
What job did he have before he was in the military?
Did he get any awards?
After the war what did he do?

Hello,

My step father is a WWII veteran and a former POW. He has recently read an article in a POW publication that states that General Patton had a son who served as Battalion Commander also during WWII.

He is was wondering if there is any fact to this, or perhaps a case of the writer's imagination running away with him.

Please advise as he wondering about the authenticity of this particular article.

Thank you,

Ralph
